Watching talent shows is addicting – there is no denying that. Even though many shows resemble one another, there is something magical about watching people chasing their dreams.

The popularity of those competitions means one thing: a lot of the talented individuals that appeared on them got famous enough to keep doing what they love most.

Out of all the TV talent shows, American Idol and X-Factor produced the biggest amount of stars. Some of them won first place while on the show, but others didn’t get the desired title and yet – they still managed to prosper.
Adam Lambert
The 37-years-old singer and songwriter appeared on the 8th season of American Idol. Although he finished in second place, he managed to outshine the winner – Kris Allen – with little difficulty. Lambert sold over 3 million albums worldwide and is now touring the world alongside Queen, standing in for the legendary Freddy Mercury.

In 2010, the band came in third place on the 7th season of The X Factor, where they started as solo artists and came together to form one of the most popular boy bands of this decade. Although it has been more than three years since the group decided to take an indefinite break, the hype that surrounded the band has yet to die down. In the past few years, each of the band members went to develop a solo career, but fans are always hoping for a reunion.
Kelly Clarkson
In 2002, before American Idol became a worldwide phenomenon, a young girl from Texas decide to audition for an obscure talent show, unknown to anyone. And what do you know? It paid off – big time! Since that fateful day 17 years ago, Clarkson sold more than 37 million albums, won three Grammy Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, and not to mention her comeback to reality TV shows as a coach on the voice.

Back in 2012, the band members auditioned for the second season of The X Factor as solo artists, but later on, joined forces and became one of the best groups that participated in the show. They managed to snag the third place in the competition, but their journey didn’t end there, as they proceeded to release their own songs. At first, the band consisted of five members, but in 2016 Camila Cabello decided to pursue a solo career. Two years later, in 2018, the remaining band members decided to go on an indefinite break. Now the only question that remains is whether we will hear from the beloved group anytime soon?
Jennifer Hudson
On the third season of American Idol that aired in 2004, the powerhouse singer finished 7th, eliminated during a controversial episode during which all three African-American participants were at the bottom. However, that didn’t stop Hudson from doing her thing, and she became a superstar in no time at all. The singer won an Oscar, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a few Grammys.
