Jill Duggar has only been married a few months, and she shared her first kiss with the man she loves at her wedding in front of her friends and family. She and her new husband might have waited a long time to hold hands or even kiss, but they certainly wasted no time in getting pregnant. The star is due in the spring with her first child, and she couldn’t be happier about it. However, the reality star and her husband have experienced a little backlash at announcing their pregnancy so early. She’s still not into her second trimester, and most people believe that pregnancies should not be announced until well into the second trimester since the risk of miscarriage decreases.
“Believing that life begins at conception and that every life is precious no matter how young, we would – even there were to be a miscarriage – we would still want that child to be recognized. So it was something that we thought about and went forward with,” she said of her very early announcement. It seems that Jill and Derick Dillard aren’t worried about a miscarriage, and that they wanted to share their news right away.
The 23-year-old daughter of the Duggar’s, who star in the hit reality show 19 Kids and Counting, said that she wanted to get pregnant right away, and that she was surprised to get a positive pregnancy test when she did. She’d already taken two only to see negative results, so when her sisters recommended that she take one of her mother’s tests and it came back positive, she was shocked. She was with one of her younger sisters and her husband when she saw the positive result, and she said she and her husband were both over the moon with excitement over the results they saw.
